About Complex Family

Our Purpose

Complex Family Foundationʼs purpose is to deliver world-class programs, inspiring and practical by nature, for the development of Complex Families globally.

The Foundation was birthed from our Founder's (Jill Darcey) passion to no longer have our Split Families and Broken Homes being put into the ʻToo Hard Basketʼ, effecting society for generations to come. Usually both ourselves and our children (of all ages) are left to cope with the fall out.  It is well recognised the devastation our family unit changes has as repercussions in our society, and these can no longer be ignored - and neither do they need to be. Our children are not unfortunate and disadvantaged because their parents are no longer married.A Complex Family is a family that has been touched by separation, divorce or some form of family breakdown. They are not sentenced to live their formative years with a certain disability; they are not relegated to a position where they have to accept second-rate opportunities, development, and goodness from life. We need to move our preconceived ideas from being Split and Broken, (implying that something needs to be fixed or put back together) and bring acceptance in a new family structure instead - itʼs now Complex.

We need to learn new tools, develop fresh attitudes, and start forming parenting teams to enhance all our lives. Our families need to be given a chance to raise kids who thrive without being encumbered by the emotional battlefield that has become normal once parents no longer live together. We need to change tack in our parenting methods and styles, and we need new strategies that work when our children and teens are living between two diverse cultures inside what they call their own family.

At Complex Family we understand the complications, and the uniqueness, of parenting when we no longer live together - and we are here to walk beside you throughout the journey.
